Dirtyblinds.com HistoryOur company started in 1987 as a
blind installation and window washing company. After years of installing blinds and washing windows, customers
continuously asked, "Do you know anyone who cleans blinds?" This prompted us to investigate offering a blind cleaning
service as an addition to our existing window washing and blind installation business. After visiting all the major
ultrasonic blind cleaning equipment manufacturers, we decided upon a company to purchase from. We where convinced by
this company that one day of training is all we would need to run a successful blind cleaning operation. After completing
this one day of training we came to the conclusion that this company along with others that sold blind cleaning machines
had very little valuable knowledge of how to clean, repair and sell blinds, let alone how to market the service. There
main focus was to sell blind cleaners with as many bells and whistles as possible.
Our first couple of weeks in business were not very pleasant; we ruined a lot of blinds because of the lack of
professional training that we received. At this time, we had to literally shut our business down for several weeks,
while we went through the learning curve on how to clean every type of blind without the guesswork. As we went through
this process, we compiled all of this information into a training manual. This training manual was initially used to
train our employees.
As time went on, our company grew into one of the largest ultrasonic blind cleaning companies on the east coast. As
the industry became aware of our business and its success, blind cleaners from all over the country inquired about our
training. Several months later we developed a three (3) day hands on training program. Little did we realize (at the
time) that this training would become so instrumental in the success of so many blind cleaning companies from all
around the world.
After several years of training clients, these same clients inquired as to why we didn't manufacture blind cleaners.
It was expressed to us, that they would rather purchase there next blind cleaner from a company that had developed the
industry standards. In 1993, this prompted us to enter our hat into the manufacturing arena. Although this decision was
not an easy one, we wanted to be more responsible to both our future clients as well as to the entire ultrasonic blind
cleaning industry. In other words, we were not interested in just selling equipment. Our mission statement as a company
is to help develop and institutionalize the blind cleaning industry. The question that was put to our employees was
"if we are going to enter the manufacturing arena, what will separate us from the competition?" After several days of
discussions we realized it was not that difficult of a task. The answer..."Lets just do what there not doing" Build a blind
cleaning machine without all the unnecessary bells and whistles. Offer 24/7 before and after market support.
Three days hands on training, that covers blind cleaning, blind repairs, blind installation, marketing and
administrative skills.
Our commitment to the success of our clients and the industry did not stop there. In March of 2007, dirtyblinds.com
developed and launched the first ON-Line Training program for the ultrasonic blind cleaning industry. This on-line
training was developed so that our clients can actually review videos and listen to audio clips while out in the field.
No more guess work. This on-line training covers all the same lessons that are covered in our three day hands on
training and more. We also decided that our on-line training course would be free to all clients that purchase our
equipment. However, people that have entered into this industry through some other manufacture can still purchase this
comprehensive training course. Every time a new cleaning process is developed for a new product, a video
demonstrating the proper cleaning technique is uploaded to the site. This site also has a "learning community" section,
where you can pose questions to all the members as well as the ability to ask your "personal coach" a private question.
